HMR drilling services supplied a drill rig capable of drilling +30’ to -90’ drill holes on a steep sided iron ore range producing HQ3 drill core.

This enabled exploration of the range that was home to a protected fauna species and also subject to government restrictions respecting the Aboriginal heritage.

Previous drill platforms disturbed large sections of hill to complete only one hole.  This drill rig worked off a foot print of 80 square metres that also incorporated the access track. The site layout made use of removable sumps, which had to be designed for minimal environmental impact and a system of anchoring the drill rig was designed, so it was not pushed off line while drilling large diameter core.

Not only did the client get the drill results, they also achieved a faster “Permit of Works” turnaround time with the mines department.
